BOKO HARAM: Cameroon Military Kills 7 And Arrests 25 Insurgents

BOKO HARAM: Security Forces Compromises Plans to Attack 5 States

Cameroonian military killed 7 Boko Haram insurgents and captured 25 of them in a four-day operation.

The local CRTV reports that the country’s defence forces staged the offensive in Ngouma, Sagme, Ardebe, Dambore and Soueram located in the far North region, close to the border with Nigeria.

The offensive started December 6, 2014. In the course of the operation the army also recovered military equipment.

It was made known in a press release by Cameroon’s Minister of Communication, Issa Tchiroma Bakary.

The official attributed success of the counter-terrorism operation to the professional intelligence gathering, especially after a number of atrocities were recorded in the area a month ago.

In another development some armed units of the sect tried to invade the localities of Amchide and Limani using armoured vehicles.

However, according to MINCOM, “the repost by Cameroon’s defence forces was rapid, appropriate and fulgurous”.

As the vehicles crossed the border in Bankim, they were immediately neutralized. More than 20 autos, with the occupants inside, were set ablaze. Two Cameroonian soldiers were injured in the offensive and evacuated to Maroua for treatment.

The minister commended the military for their courage in the fight against Boko Haram and urged the residents to remain vigilant.

Cameroon has been active in confronting the dreaded sect. It would be recalled that only last the military allegedly killed more than 180 Boko Haram insurgents in the North of the country.
