The Emir spent 20 minutes at the scene of the blast during which he ordered for the mosque to be cleaned and prayers to resume, AFP reports.
Sanusi said:
“From all indications, they (attackers) have been planning this for at least two months. I have directed that the mosque be washed and cleaned and prayers should continue here.”
“We will never be intimidated into abandoning our religion, which is the intention of the attackers,” he added.
Friday’s bomb blast is believed to be the deadliest yet with the casualty figure reportedly in the hundreds.
The Emir of Kano had earlier urged Nigerians to rise up and defend themselves against attacks by terrorist sect, Boko Haram which is believed to be behind the bomb blast.
